Hello, My Name is Jay Sae Jung Oh.

I explore the intersection between art and design throughout my work as a furniture and product designer, artist, and entrepreneur. Creating within a diverse realm of design allows me to pursue many passions at once.

My one-of-a-kind furniture designs are represented by Salon 94 gallery in New York City. These bespoke pieces have been acquired into the permanent collections of the Carnegie Museum of Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, and Cranbrook Art Museum.

My high-end pet brand Boo Oh brings to market products that I myself wanted to own. The creation of this brand allows me the freedom to creatively design products on a larger scale and to relate with different parties in my industry, from the manufacturers to the end consumers.

I am honored by all of the positive feedback I have received for my design work from collectors, customers, and the press, including features in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, New York Times, Fast Company, Washing Post, and Vogue.

At the beginning of my career, I had the privilege to work alongside NYC-based, Italian designer, Maestro Gaetano Pesce, creating with him furniture pieces, products, and large installations; this was a pivotal time for me to experiment with different materials and styles in art and design. I then served as a visiting professor for the University of Illinois at Chicago, teaching Industrial Design within the school’s undergraduate and master’s programs. I hold a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in fine art from Kookmin University in Seoul, South Korea, and a master’s degree in 3D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Much love,

J
